Bullet Proof Coffee never did anything for me, never felt any mental clarity benefits with either MCT's, grassfed butter or exogenous ketones added. But I have found a Coffee concoction that is great to break my fast, and feels like straight rocketfuel. Especially good a few hours after a fasted workout.
- 2-3 scoops of low carb protein of your choice. Chocolate flavours recommended.
- As much black coffee as you can handle (for me ~200ml from a moka pot)
- Water (frozen and not-frozen)
Easiest thing in the world to make, even if you haven't had a coffee yet.
- Put some ice into your vessel of choice (I use a 700ml glass jar)
- Add Protein (inevitably spilling some on the bench, just wipe this on the floor and pretend flatmates won't notice)
- Add water and shake like polaroid picture to mix the protein (leave room for coffee, it's the whole point of this exercise)
- Add coffee to the top. The ice will mostly melt when you add the coffee, it's mostly used to help mix the protein and so this drink isn't hot. Wouldn't recommend drinking it hot.
- Hold onto your chair.
Macros will just be for the protein, last I checked no macros needed for black coffee or water. For my protein it's ~40g protein, ~3g carbs.
